Job description

Summary of the R&D Project Management Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our R&D team at Axogen for the Fall 2026 semester and potentially beyond. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance for a dynamic, professional, hands-on experience. The intern will get a unique look into the benefits of working within smaller biomedical company; high visibility within the company. This internship is based out of our Tampa office, so the student must be local to the area and able to work in the office.

Requirements of the R&D Project Management Internship

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program; preferably business or project management related
  • Ability to work 15 hours per week within normal business hours, Monday - Friday *the specific days/times will be based on the student's class schedule
  • Pass a drug screening
  • Exceptional written & oral communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, use of Microsoft Office, Excel, basic data analysis desirable
  • Good teamwork skills and respectful attitude desirable
  • Ability to independently follow protocols and instructions desirable
  • Good organization and time management skills desirable

Project Details

As an R&D Project Management intern, you will also have a hand in identifying risks, constraints, issues, and dependencies. You will work closely with the team by owning and undertaking various tasks related to Smartsheet project plans, Excel and template creation, ensuring that best project management practices and standards are met, and help the company deliver maximum value through its projects. In this role, you will also;
  • Assist with developing and managing project plans, timelines/schedules, documentation, and project deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help identify and document project requirements
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking project progress against established plans and budgets
  • Communicate project status updates to project teams and escalate issues as necessary
  • Support the team in all phases of project lifecycles, including planning, execution, and closure
  • Participate in project status meetings and provide input to improve project processes

Compensation

The anticipated base wage for this position is $18/hr for an undergrad student and $20/hr for a grad student. In addition to the base hourly rate, there may be a housing stipend available based on location. Interns who are 21 years of age or older are eligible for 401K.
