Quality Field Engineer

Ryan Companies US, Inc. offers an exciting opportunity for a Quality Field Engineer to join our national Mission Critical team. The role supports project completion and ensures all phases of mission‑critical projects meet desired quality standards from inception to turnover.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of field installation requirements for each scope of work.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs and field inspections for all CSA and/or MEP installations.
  • Monitor and update the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and related test/inspection logs.
  • Compile photographic evidence and other supporting documentation to document all QA/QC activities on site.
  • Monitor deficiencies and provide documentation to support corrective actions.
  • Assist the project team with completion lists and other phase turnover activities.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
  • Participate in preparatory meetings for each definable feature of work to ensure understanding of quality requirements.
  • Participate in all first‑work inspections led by the Quality Manager to ensure workmanship complies with established quality standards.
  • Coordinate 3rd‑party testing activities and address issues or concerns.
  • Track and log all 3rd‑party special inspections and all AHJ inspections using Smartsheet Work Apps, ensuring documentation is filed in the project management software.
  • Assist with entering, tracking, documenting, and closing punch items within the Punch List tool.
  • Share lessons learned with the project team, trade partners, and other Ryan Mission Critical project teams.

  • Excellent communication with trade partners and project team members.
  • High level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
  • Knowledge and experience with project management software such as Procore, AutoDesk, CxAlloy, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in architectural, civil, structural engineering, or construction management.
  • Previous construction quality control experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel.
