Job description

Position Overview

The NYCT Department of Subways (DOS) Enterprise Asset Management group is seeking one (1) temporary consultant to serve as an HxGN EAM Sustainment Lead.

This role is responsible for providing critical sustainment and operational support for the existing HxGN EAM (formerly Infor EAM) implementation delivered under the EAM Foundations Program. The position will focus primarily on stabilizing, optimizing, and supporting current configurations, with limited new functionality introduced as business needs are identified.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in HxGN EAM, strong knowledge of asset and work management, and experience supporting complex, regulated transit or railroad environments.


Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Sustainment & Support
  • Provide day-to-day sustainment support for the DOS HxGN EAM system, ensuring stability, performance, and usability.

  • Maintain and support existing system configurations tailored to transit industry operations, regulatory requirements, and organizational processes.

  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues, defects, and user-reported errors.

  • Support go-live and post-go-live activities, including production support.

Technical Leadership & Solution Design
  • Extend HxGN EAM functionality using the Extensibility Framework.

  • Design, develop, and implement FlexSQL solutions to meet business requirements.

  • Provide technical evaluation and guidance for proposed system enhancements, integrations, and mobile solutions.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement custom functionality when out-of-the-box solutions are insufficient.

Business & Functional Support
  • Consult on asset management best practices, including maintenance, inspection, reliability, and lifecycle management.

  • Support business leads in conducting requirements-gathering workshops.

  • Perform gap analysis between current and desired business processes and system capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities for system optimization aligned with business operations.

Reporting, Testing & Training
  • Develop system reporting solutions including Queries, Dataspys, Inboxes, and KPIs.

  • Create, validate, execute, and document system test cases.

  • Assist in the development of end-user training materials and reference documentation.

  • Conduct or support end-user training sessions.

Project & Stakeholder Support
  • Support end-to-end project activities including scoping, planning, estimation, design, implementation, and deployment.

  • Work closely with stakeholders across business and technical teams.

  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.


Critical Key Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of HxGN EAM (Infor EAM) experience, version 11 or higher.

  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience extending HxGN EAM using the Extensibility Framework.

  • Strong proficiency in developing and implementing FlexSQL.

  • 2–3 years of experience supporting railroad or transit industry environments preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

 

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of HxGN EAM experience with strong focus on sustainment and support.

  • At least 5 years of experience delivering enterprise asset management (EAM) implementations.

  • At least 5 years of experience leading or supporting solution development teams.

  • Strong experience with HxGN EAM modules including:

    • Work Orders

    • Planning & Scheduling

    • Equipment & Asset Management

  • Solid understanding of relational database design and functionality.

  • Experience supporting desktop and mobile applications.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project).

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across all organizational levels.
