Infectious Disease Nurse Practitioner Outpatient / Inpatient Bronx, New York

About the Opportunity

A prominent healthcare group in the Bronx, NY, is seeking a Board-Certified Infectious Disease Nurse Practitioner to join their specialized clinical team. This direct-hire role offers a dynamic practice environment focusing on the management of complex infectious conditions, HIV primary care, PrEP/PEP management, viral hepatitis, and antimicrobial stewardship within a collaborative interdisciplinary setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical evaluations, consultations, and ongoing management for patients with complex infectious diseases (e.g., HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B/C, bone and joint infections, tick-borne illnesses, MRSA, fungal infections).
  • Manage outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) and monitor lab results, drug toxicities, and therapeutic response.
  • Provide comprehensive risk reduction counseling, PrEP/PEP management, and routine screening for high-risk populations.
  • Collaborate closely with attending Infectious Disease Physicians, hospitalists, pharmacotherapy specialists, and care coordinators.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary infection control and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
  • Maintain complete and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Qualifications

  • Master s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
  • Active, unencumbered New York State Nurse Practitioner License (FNP, AGNP, or Acute Care).
  • Board Certification (AANP or ANCC).
  • Active New York DEA registration and Controlled Substance license.
  • Prior clinical experience in Infectious Disease, HIV care (AAHIVS certification a plus), travel medicine, or complex internal medicine subspecialties preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a strong asset in this community.
