Are you interested in working for an industry leader in Military GPS Technologies producing state-of-the-art products that help our customers stay a step ahead when protecting people, our National Security, critical infrastructure and vital information? BAE Systems is committed to investing long term in development of significant skills to meet these core values in our high output manufacturing facility. BAE is seeking a skilled Quality Engineering Assistance. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance of Manufactured Electronics Assemblies to Industry leading manufacturing Standards, Facilitation of AS9102 FAI processes, and coordination of Audit Activities in our world class Electronics Manufacturing Facility. This Position will assist in improving inspection mentorship, ensuring highest levels of process compliance, and assist the manufacturing teams with early identification of potential quality concerns.
Job Description:
  • Qualifying Inspection personnel and maintaining inspection stamp database
  • Ensure inspection processes to internal and external Standards is followed
  • Mentorship of shop floor inspectors
  • Completion of First Article Inspections (FAI) in compliance with AS9102
  • Daily production floor support
  • Assisting Quality Engineers with projects, investigations, root cause/corrective actions etc.
  • Ensure process compliance to Internal and external standards such as: AS9100/ISO9001:2015 and Navigation Sensor Systems (NSS) Workmanship Standards for Electronic Assemblies
  • Interacts with Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to communicate and resolve issues identified from inspection.
  • Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Skills and Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate with management, peers and touch labor within the company
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Use of inspection equipment (e.g., microscopes, calipers, gauges etc)
  • Possess effective written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Skills and Education
  • 1+ years of related experience
  • Inspection of circuit card and sub assembly experience
  • Understanding of Solder Acceptance Criteria (NSS Workmanship Standards, IPC or other)
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Oracle experience
  • Ability to work as a team and independently
