Job Description
About the Role
Cypress Bank's culture supports customers in achieving their financial goals and dreams. The HR and Ops Assistant/ Training Coordinator provides administrative support for the Bank's human resources and operations functions by assisting with employee onboarding, records management, training coordination, reporting communications and other everyday support activities including customer service phone support. This position helps support special projects while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Human Resources Assistant Job Duties:
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting related to benefits.
  • Assist with coordinating benefits processing: enrollments, COBRA, terminations, life events, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, 401k contribution changes and loans.
  • Verify and balance all payroll deductions related to benefits.
  • Assist with maintenance of employee benefits files, maintains group benefits database, and updates employee benefits records.
  • Assist accounting team in the monitoring, verifying, and reconciling of benefits accounts.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Assists with the development of communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Administer employee reviews, including 30 and 90-day and annual reviews.
  • Provide support for the Open Enrollment process annually.
  • Monitor and generate reports for the company's affirmative action plan.
  • Manage talent acquisition and recruitment processes using the Applicant Tracking system.
  • Assist in onboarding and terminating employees.
  • Help organize training and development initiatives.
  • Create various reports in Insperity system.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR related topics.
  • Other administrative support duties as assigned.

Operations Assistant Job Duties:
  • Answer customer calls to assist with bookkeeping questions, including but not limited to account balance, online banking, debit cards (ordering, hot card, unauthorized or disputed charges, raising/lowering limits, and unblocking).
  • Process incoming wires.
  • Perform second review of wire originations.
  • New Account review.
  • Address review.
  • Analyze and organize monthly phone data.
  • Other clerical duties as assigned.

Training Coordinator (Noncompliance-Related) Job Duties:
  • Coordinate the ordering and administration of a variety of training from various resources.
  • Communicate with management across branches to coordinate training.
  • Track incomplete training including notifications to management of past due assignments.
  • Other training coordination duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Professional appearance and disposition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with strong initiative for follow-up.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

Education, Experience & Licenses:
  • Associate's degree preferred; relevant banking or human resources experience demonstrating comparable knowledge and skills may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in a retail banking role required.

Work Location: Cypress Bank, SSB at 801 North Jefferson Avenue, Mount Pleasant, TX 75455.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-5:00pm and Fridays from 8:30am-5:30pm with a 1-hour lunch break.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
