Job description

Purpose of the Position

The Sales Assistant plays a critical role in supporting UNCS's sales organization by assisting Account Managers with customer service, opportunity management, reporting, CRM maintenance, and sales operations. This position helps ensure our sales team remains focused on serving customers, closing business, and driving revenue growth.

This role is designed as an entry point into Account Management and offers a clear career path for high performers who are eager to learn the business, build customer relationships, and grow within the organization.

Key Relationships

  • Reports directly to: Matthew Levine, Senior Vice President of Sales
  • Supports: Eight Account Managers
  • Collaborates with: Purchasing, Finance, Logistics, Marketing, and Executive Leadership

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support eight Account Managers with daily customer and sales activities
  • Manage sales opportunities and customer pipelines
  • Maintain accurate customer records, contacts, notes, and opportunity tracking
  • Generate reports focused on sales activity, customer opportunities, and revenue growth
  • Assist Account Managers with customer communications and follow-up
  • Prepare customer presentations, sales materials, and product information
  • Coordinate samples, product requests, and customer inquiries
  • Attend sales meetings, take notes, and track action items
  • Assist with customer meetings and trade show preparation
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Logistics, and Finance to support customer needs
  • Utilize AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity, reporting, research, customer communication, and content creation
  • Identify process improvements and leverage technology to increase team efficiency
  • Maintain organized customer files, sales records, and supporting documentation
