What You'll DoShipping & Order Fulfillment

• Accurately pick, stage, and verify customer orders using packing slips, pick lists, and ERP systems.
• Fill, package, seal, label, and prepare products according to customer specifications and company standards.
• Verify product weights, quantities, lot numbers, and labeling to ensure order accuracy.
• Identify and report damaged or non-conforming materials and collaborate with the Team Lead and Shipping Coordinator on corrective actions.
• Prepare and ship both domestic and international orders, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Create and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, commercial invoices, and shipping labels.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with freight carriers, including LTL, FTL, parcel services, and international freight forwarders.
• Ensure all shipments meet applicable regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

Hazardous Materials & Regulatory Compliance

• Package, mark, and label hazardous materials in compliance with DOT (49 CFR), IATA, and IMDG regulations.
• Maintain current knowledge of hazardous goods classifications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and packaging requirements.
• Prepare and review required regulatory documentation, including shipper declarations and emergency response information.
• Conduct pre-shipment inspections to ensure proper packaging, sealing, marking, and labeling of regulated materials.
• Support a strong culture of safety and compliance throughout shipping operations.

Inventory & Warehouse Support

• Assist with inventory management activities, including cycle counts and stock replenishment.
• Verify inventory accuracy during picking, filling, and shipping processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready warehouse environment while supporting SQF requirements.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, inspecting, and staging incoming materials as needed.
• Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of shipping supplies and packaging materials.

Documentation & Systems

• Accurately enter shipment information into ERP systems and carrier platforms such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, and freight management systems.
• Maintain shipping records, compliance documentation, shipment logs, and carrier performance data.
• Prepare customs and export documentation to support international shipments.
• Generate and provide customer-specific documentation using preferred communication methods.

Collaboration & Customer Order Accuracy

• Perform thorough quality checks to ensure every order ships correctly and on time.
• Work closely with Sales, Shipping, and Warehouse teams to resolve order discrepancies and clarify shipment requirements.
• Communicate proactively regarding fulfillment challenges, shipping delays, and documentation concerns.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  

Experience: 1 + years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in manufacturing and/or food grade facility preferred.

Certifications: Ability to become forklift certified. Must successfully complete General Awareness Haz Mat training within the first 90 days of employment. Additional Air & Ocean HazMat training must be completed within the company-specified time frame. 

Functional Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Basic understanding of percentages. Ability to recognize and follow alpha and numeric sequences. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization is sometimes limited. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written or oral form.

Technology Aptitude/Skills: Basic knowledge of computer and keyboard functions. Working knowledge of manufacturing, inventory control and order processing software.

Language Skills: Ability to communicate and receive information in both verbal and written formats. Ability to give and receive feedback in a professional manner. Ability to read and understand documents such as shop order tickets, safety rules, memos, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Physical and Sensory Demands / Environmental Conditions / Equipment Used:

• Ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds regularly during each shift and frequently move 400+ pound barrels and totes with assistance regularly throughout a shift with the assistance of equipment.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, electronic devices, photocopiers, filing systems/cabinets and fax machines.
• This role frequently uses basic hand tools and other equipment to operate and/or perform maintenance and/or repairs on equipment.
• This role routinely operates heavy equipment, machinery, or general facility equipment. 
• Ability to sit and operate motorized equipment frequently, including forklifts.
• Ability to use hands and fingers reach, grip, grasp, twist and to operate hand tools/equipment and machinery frequently.
• Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen occasionally.
• Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow occasionally.
• Cognitive and reasoning ability to read, review and interpret work orders or processes on a frequent basis.

• Employees may work the 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, generally Monday through Friday, but weekly hours and number of days per week may vary. Overtime is sometimes necessary to ensure business and customer needs are met.
