Position Overview
The Home Repair Assistant works alongside the Senior Home Repair Technician with home repair and modification services for low-income older adults and individuals with disabilities. This role assists with repairs, safety improvements, and accessibility upgrades that help clients remain safely in their homes. The position provides hands-on support with projects, materials, and client interactions while helping ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Home Repair & MaintenanceÂ
- Assist with residential repairs and modifications, including: Â
- Basic plumbing and minor electrical workÂ
- Lock repair and installation (doors and windows)Â
- Smoke detector installation and maintenanceÂ
- Glass repair and replacementÂ
- Interior/exterior door repairÂ
- Grab bar installation and safety upgradesÂ
Client Support & CoordinationÂ
- Contact clients to schedule service appointmentsÂ
- Interact respectfully and professionally with older adults and individuals with disabilitiesÂ
Project AssistanceÂ
- Support the Senior Technician with job preparation and executionÂ
- Purchase materials as directedÂ
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentÂ
- Assist in ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high standardsÂ
QualificationsÂ
- 1-2 years of handyman, construction, or home repair experience preferred (or equivalent hands-on skills)Â
- Experience using hand and power tools, ladders, and standard repair equipmentÂ
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving recordÂ
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening

CompensationÂ
$21.00 - $23.50 per hour, based on experience and skillsÂ
