Job description

Job Title: Data Center Technician Level 2
Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 12+ months
Experience: 3+ years
Job Overview
Our client is seeking experienced Data Center Technicians (Level 2) to support hands-on operations within a large-scale, mission-critical data center environment. Selected candidates will assist with rack, stack, and installation of key data center equipment, perform troubleshooting, and act as Level 1 administrators for data center issues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Rack, stack, and install data center equipment
  • Troubleshoot common data center issues and work through ticketing queues
  • Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly, including installation of heavy GPU trays
  • Build prototype open board systems on benchtop and debug issues reported by users
  • Triage and debug systems and ensure they pass baseline diagnostics
Required Skills
  • Strong data center experience with rack and stack
  • Minimum 3 years of on-premises, large-scale data center experience (Power, Space, Cooling, Equipment)
  • Strong cabling skills including cable management and dressing
  • Network troubleshooting experience, ideally with Supermicro Servers, Infiniband Fabric, Mellanox, and Arista Hardware
  • Solid UNIX (Ubuntu or RedHat) administration skills including server monitoring and disk failure debugging
  • Break-fix server expertise including mechanical assembly/disassembly and GPU tray installation
  • Strong attention to detail, independent thinking, and problem-solving ability
Preferred Skills
  • Experience building and debugging prototype systems
  • Familiarity with baseline diagnostics tooling
