Golf Course Groundskeeper
Description
Position Title: Golf Course Groundskeeper
Reports To: Golf Course Assistant / Golf Course Manager
Department: Golf Course Maintenance
Employment Dates: Temporary; Dates Range Between April 1 - November 1st
Pay Rate: $20-29
Purpose of Position:
Under the direction of the Golf Course Assistant, a Golf Course Groundskeeper is a non-exempt seasonal position responsible for maintenance of the golf course. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below and in the spirit of the Club's mission and vision.
Responsibilities:
Duties shall include but not be limited to:
  • Maintains and cuts grass on tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes and greens.
  • Maintains bunkers.
  • Assists with sodding and trimming.
  • Uses equipment such as walking and riding greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.
  • Observes all Club safety practices and protocols.
  • Participates in required trainings and meetings.
  • Performs other required tasks and duties as required.

Position Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Ability to understand and receive instruction in English
  • Works cooperatively with others in a team environment?

Experience/Education:
  • High school degree or equivalent; or in pursuit
  • Previous Golf Course maintenance experience preferred.

Work Environment; Physical Demands:
  • Work tasks are performed mainly outdoors and involve physical strength and endurance. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Works with heavy equipment such as mowers, rollers, cutters and golf carts.
  • Position requires walking and standing for long periods of time. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuverer between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Medium Work: Must be able to exert and lift 20-50 lbs of force occasionally and 10-25lbs of force frequently and up to 10 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis to move objects
  • Heavy Work: Must be able to exert and lift 100 lbs of force occasionally and in excess of 50 lbs of force frequently and in excess of 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis to move objects.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch frequently.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Projected Work Schedule:
The GC Groundskeeper position may either be part-time or full-time depending on business levels. Full-time schedules may average or exceed that of 40 hours per week. Any request or anticipated absence from the agreed schedule requires prior approval from the Golf Course Assistant and Golf Course Manager
