As a Staff Geologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our geological and geophysical projects. Your expertise will be utilized to ensure accurate and efficient data collection and analysis. Terracon's geophysical services provide valuable information about the subsurface of our clients' project sites faster, safer, and more sustainably than traditional drilling with little or no site disturbance. With the most geophysical professionals and the largest fleet of near-surface equipment compared to competitors, our experts draw on a wide range of screening tools to provide our clients with necessary geophysical data for the exploration, planning, design, locating, and/or evaluation of a wide variety of sites to increase accuracy and manage project risk.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in geological or geophysical field work.
  • Proficiency in borehole logging techniques and interpretation of geological data.
  • Knowledge of laboratory sample testing procedures and quality control measures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex geological data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for geological data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for field work as required.
  • Professional certification or registration as a Professional Geologist (PG) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Assist in borehole logging operations, ensuring accurate data collection and interpretation.
  • Support lab sample testing procedures, maintaining quality control and providing technical guidance.
  • Integrate geological and geophysical data, analyzing and interpreting results for project needs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field staff, ensuring consistent and accurate data collection methods.
  • Review and analyze geologic reports and data, identifying trends and providing insights for project planning.
  • Collaborate with geophysicists and other specialists to ensure seamless integration of geological and geophysical data.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices, staying informed on new developments.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations, clearly communicating geological findings and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during field operations.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide geological expertise to support decision-making processes.
