We are seeking an experienced Animal Care Technician II to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Bethesda, MD.
As an Animal Care Technician II, you will perform daily animal health observations to maintain the quality and health of research animals in complex/high traffic rooms, cubicles, vertical vivarium rooms, and/or a satellite facility.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Perform daily water bottle and cage checks, cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; provide food and water; and record health concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, housing, or support areas.
- Receive, inspect, and house incoming animals.
- Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species.
- May become involved in breeding and weaning procedures.
- Monitor personnel and equipment entry into various rooms.
- Operate required equipment and perform general housekeeping.
The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician II position:
- high school diploma or general education degree
- minimum one year's experience performing basic animal care
- ALAT eligibility required, ALAT certification preferred
The pay range for this position is $23.50 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
