Celebrate each day at The Hangout! From high-profile events to daily family games, our staff serves up a dose of fun with every meal. Located right along the beautiful white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores, the Hangout always feels like a beach party whether it is hosting after parties for sports games, festivals, pop-up workouts, fun runs, playing in the sand pit, pick-up games of ping-pong, foosball, four square, or playing in the family foam parties. As we like to say, come for the food, and stay for the fun!


We are looking for fun, friendly, smart, hard-working and fast people to scoop the best gelato and sorbet on the Gulf Coast. Our Gelato Team members greet our guests, scoop the best cups and cones of gelato, keep our stores clean and tidy, ensures accuracy of inventory and create wonderful moments for all our customers. All of our gelato and sorbets are made in house.


Must be clean, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.

Job Description

Ideal candidate is interested and willing to assist in all facets of Gelato. Basic duties include welcoming guests, serving gelato, POS operation, and general shop cleaning. Must be clean, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills. Job duties include but are not limited to the following:


  • Welcome Guests to the counter in a pleasant and engaging way.
  • Accurately captures and registers customers’ orders into POS system and processes payment transactions appropriately
  • Prepares and serves customer orders following guiding standards for preparation, portion size, presentation and hygiene standards received during training.
  • Provides positive and excellent customer service with every interaction.
  • Ensures all utensils and equipment are sterilized before each use.
  • Responsible for the cash on hand during the shift, accounts all cash balance at the end of the shift and registers it in the system prior to leaving.
  • Ensures accuracy of inventory in the shop.
  • Re-stock supplies (cups, cones, spoons, napkins, etc.) from nearby storage area.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, respecting all safety and quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by Manager
  • Record data as needed.
