Job description

Job Title

Under the direction of the Incarcerated persons Assignment Correctional Lieutenant and the general supervision of the Mailroom Office Services Supervisor I (OSSI) the Office Assistant (G) will collect all Incarcerated persons Grievances/Appeals forms located in all housing units, process incoming incarcerated persons mail, including the searching and routing of mail to the proper housing unit; distribute staff and inter-institutional and intra-institutional mail; maintain an incarcerated persons roster reflecting the movement of incarcerated persons within the prison; processes priority/certified/registered/legal mail and maintains an each respective mail log; utilizing SOMS/ERMS as needed and other computer programs, to find accurate housing for transferred incarcerated persons; ensure mail is re-routed in a timely manner.
