Wareham Animal Hospital, founded in 2023 by Dr. Alberto Fernandez, DVM, DACVECC, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. Located in Wareham, MA, we specialize in providing urgent and emergent animal care to the surrounding community. If you thrive in a fast-paced, compassionate environment, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our furry patients receive the best care possible. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting veterinarians and technicians during exams and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic medical records.
  • Preparing exam rooms and ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
  • Handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately.
  • Educating pet owners on post-visit care and general pet health.
  • Supporting the team in day-to-day clinic operations.
What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a self-motivated and goal-oriented professional who is ready to hit the ground running. To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in the veterinary industry or graduation from a veterinary assistant program.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
