Job description

As a service consultant you will be responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by ascertaining vehicle performance problems and service requests; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer records. You will serve as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensuring the customer's needs are understood by the technician and the needed and recommended service/repairs are understood by the customer.

Salary is not negotiable. Responsibilities
  • Initiate automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle problems and services by listening to the customer's description of symptoms, clarifying the description of problems, conducting inspections, taking test drives, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules.
  • Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required.
  • Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of the vehicle, obtaining customer's approval of estimates, providing contact telephone numbers, answering questions and concerns, and arranging towing and temporary transportation.
Requirements
  • Automotive dealership Service Advisor experience required
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
