Job description

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to develop modern cloud-native applications supporting mission-critical intelligence and geospatial platforms. You will design, develop, and maintain user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and cloud-native microservices that enable analysts and mission partners to securely discover, process, and exploit geospatial data.

This is a hands-on software engineering role working across the full technology stack from responsive web applications to scalable backend services and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate with geospatial services and enterprise APIs

  • Collaborate with architects, data scientists, and mission stakeholders to gather, document, and refine customer requirements, including data mapping and integration needs

  • Ensure activities align with established processes, standards, and mission objectives
  • Contribute to documentation of processes, procedures, integration patterns, and lessons learned

Key Technologies:

  • Familiarity with backend systems and integration concepts (APIs, data mapping, file-based transfers)
  • Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS, ECR, EKS, API Gateway, Cloudwatch, KMS)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD or similar)
  • Understanding of containerized and serverless environments
  • Familiarity with data transfer and file processing concepts
  • Familiarity with dashboards, metrics, and operational visibility tools
  • Understanding of secure data handling and access control concepts (IAM, least privilege)

  • 1-3(Junior), 3-7(Journeyman), 8-11 (Senior), >12 (Principal) years of experience in software development, system integration, or technical support roles
  • Experience working directly with customers or stakeholders in a technical or mission environment
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices
  • Experience using GitLab or similar tools for collaboration and tracking

Desired Qualifications:
