Job description

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join a wholesale distribution organization in Birmingham, Alabama on a contract basis with the potential to become permanent. This role partners closely with accounting, finance, and business teams to turn financial and operational data into clear reporting, analysis, and decision support. The position is well suited for someone who excels at financial modeling, reporting, and business insight generation in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain financial models that support planning, performance analysis, and operational decision-making.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reporting for leadership, including analysis of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow results.
• Consolidate actual financial results and incorporate them into reporting tools and forecasting models.
• Partner with accounting and analytics stakeholders to connect financial data with broader business performance insights.
• Produce pricing, margin, and customer profitability analysis to help guide commercial decisions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering inputs, validating data, and highlighting key trends and variances.
• Fulfill bank and lender reporting needs with accurate, timely financial information.
• Contribute to reporting enhancements, integration-related analysis, and process improvement efforts across finance functions.• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, modeling, and variance interpretation within a corporate finance or accounting environment.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to organize, manipulate, and evaluate large volumes of data.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements and the ability to translate results into meaningful business insights.
• Background supporting budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes.
