Job description

The Financial Analyst will support the CFO and executive leadership team by overseeing financial performance across a portfolio of multifamily and commercial real estate assets. This role is responsible for monthly financial analysis, budget variance reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve NOI, operational efficiency, and portfolio performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis skills with a strong understanding of real estate operations and property-level economics.
Roles & Responsibilities
Monthly Financial Variance Analysis
  • Review monthly property financial statements across multifamily and commercial assets and evaluate property-level NOI performance and cash flow trends
  • Analyze actual performance versus budget, forecast, and prior year results
  • Identify financial gaps, operational inefficiencies, and unexplained variances
  • Monitor trends in revenue, occupancy, concessions, bad debt, payroll, repairs & maintenance, utilities, CAM reconciliation, and operating expenses

Operational Financial Support
  • Work closely with the CFO, property management team, and 3rd party property management companies to assist in developing operational controls and financial processes
  • Partner with property management teams to improve underperforming assets
  • Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and expense reduction

Asset & Portfolio Reporting
  • Prepare executive-level portfolio reporting packages across the portfolio for cross comparison
  • Track portfolio-wide performance metrics and trends
  • Support capital expenditure planning and reserve analysis
  • Evaluate assumptions impacting property performance and investment returns

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in financial analysis, real estate finance, asset management, or commercial real estate accounting
  • Strong understanding of property financial statements and NOI analysis
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with property management/accounting software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
