Position Overview

The HVAC Service Supervisor is a field‑based leadership position focused on supporting technicians, handling advanced troubleshooting, and ensuring quality work on service calls. This role spends significant time in the field assisting with repairs, startups, diagnostics, and resolving escalated service issues. This role is geared toward someone who leads with their tools, technical expertise, and field experience.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Technical Support
  • Provide daily field support to HVAC service technicians on maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment startups.
  • Assist with advanced diagnostics on complex issues across commercial HVAC systems.
  • Deliver on‑the‑job coaching and training to technicians to improve skill sets and efficiency.
  • Conduct quality control checks on completed work to ensure standards are met and best practices are followed.
Scheduling & Workflow Coordination
  • Support dispatch with scheduling technicians based on workload, skill level, and priority needs.
  • Help organize, prioritize, and distribute service calls to ensure timely completion.
  • Review work orders for completeness and accuracy before and after jobs.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all company and OSHA safety standards across job sites.
  • Conduct regular field safety audits and ensure proper use of PPE and tools.
  • Verify that work complies with HVAC industry regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
Customer & Team Relations
  • Assist with customer communication regarding technical issues or onsite observations.
  • Help resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Represent the company with strong communication, professionalism, and technical authority.
Tools, Inventory & Field Readiness
  • Ensure technicians have appropriate tools, materials, and equipment for each job.
  • Support inventory management, vehicle stock, and ordering of replacement parts.
  • Coordinate with warehouse/parts teams to keep the field operating smoothly.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands‑on commercial HVAC service experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in diagnosing, repairing, and commissioning HVAC systems.
  • Experience with Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, RTU's and other commercial HVAC equipment
  • Previous experience mentoring or supervising technicians is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service capabilities.
  • HVAC certifications or journeyman/master license strongly preferred.
