Join the City of Medicine Hat as a Recreation Facility Worker!Temporary | Casual | On-site Starting at $25.74 /hour Join our team and take pride in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our recreation facilities. As a Recreation Facility Worker, you'll play a key role in ensuring a welcoming environment for our community by upholding high standards of cleanliness and assisting with minor maintenance tasks. Your work will help create a great experience for everyone who visits our facilities.We're a team that believes how we work is just as important as the work we do. Grounded in our values - Own It, Team Up, Be Curious, and Service with Care - we're committed to delivering meaningful experiences for our community while supporting each other along the way.How you'll own it Maintain cleanliness of recreation facilities according to Standard Operating Procedures.Perform minor building repairs and routine preventative maintenance tasks.Assist Facility Operators with ice resurfacing, equipment maintenance, pool cleaning, and other operational duties.Document and report necessary repairs or potential issues to the Senior Facility Operator.Provide information and assist facility users with operational questions, ensuring a positive experience.Contribute to the overall security and safety of the facility and its users.What you bringKnowledge of custodial techniques, cleaning equipment, and cleaning supplies.Basic understanding of building systems and general maintenance principles.Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with power and hand tools.Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and the public.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work with limited supervision.A commitment to safety, including wearing CSA-approved footwear while on shift.
