What is an assistant execution trader?

Assistant Execution Traders are finance professionals who support senior traders in executing buy and sell orders for securities on behalf of clients or the firm. They help monitor market conditions, ensure timely and accurate trades, and manage order flow using electronic trading platforms. Their role often includes pre-trade analysis, post-trade reporting, and communicating with brokers to ensure the best execution prices. Assistant Execution Traders play a crucial role in minimizing trading costs and risks while learning the skills needed to advance to more senior trading positions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an assistant execution trader?

To thrive as an Assistant Execution Trader, you need solid analytical skills, a degree in finance or a related field, and a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments. Familiarity with trading platforms, order management systems (OMS), and relevant certifications like Series 7 or 63 are typically required. Excellent attention to detail, quick decision-making, and effective communication help you excel in fast-paced trading environments. These skills ensure accurate trade execution, risk mitigation, and smooth coordination with traders and clients, which are vital for optimal trading performance.

What are some common challenges faced by assistant execution traders, and how can they effectively address them?

Assistant Execution Traders often face the challenge of executing trades quickly and accurately in fast-moving markets while minimizing errors and slippage. They must manage multiple orders simultaneously, keep up with real-time market data, and communicate effectively with both senior traders and compliance teams. To address these challenges, Assistant Execution Traders should develop strong attention to detail, maintain a calm demeanor under pressure, and continuously improve their knowledge of trading systems and regulations. Building strong working relationships with team members and proactively seeking feedback can also help them adapt and excel in this dynamic environment.

Job description

MULTIFAMILY ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
Build the Project. Protect the Plan. Lead from the Field.
If you're the kind of person who can't walk past a problem without fixing it, notices the details others miss, and takes pride in leaving a jobsite better than you found it, this role was built for you.
At UrbanCore, we believe planning and discipline create freedom. Great jobsites don't happen by accident, they're built through preparation, communication, and relentless attention to detail.
We're looking for an Assistant Superintendent who wants to be in the field, support the team, and help create jobsites that are safe, organized, and predictable.
WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK HERE
Most construction environments accept chaos as part of the job. We don't.
UrbanCore is a collaborative environment built on mutual respect; for the work, the plan, and the people doing it.
We believe the best projects are built through:
  • Clear expectations instead of constant urgency
  • Disciplined planning instead of last-minute scrambling
  • Accountability without blame
  • Respect for every trade partner on site

When we execute well, our teams:
  • Build better projects.
  • Create flexibility through discipline.
  • Protect their time and energy.
  • Deliver consistent results.
THE ROLE
The Assistant Superintendent is the Superintendent's right hand.
You're responsible for helping the project run smoothly every single day by keeping the field organized, identifying issues before they become problems, and making sure work is ready before crews arrive. You will coordinate trades, support production, maintain quality, and help create an environment where every trade can succeed.
Success in this role isn't measured by how busy you are. It's measured by how well the project flows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Field Execution
  • Support daily operations alongside the Superintendent.
  • Walk the project continuously to identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and roadblocks before they impact production.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, organization, and craftsmanship.
  • Coordinate inspections and maintain accurate field documentation.
  • Assist with punch list and closeout activities.
Operational Excellence
  • Lead daily huddles and foreman meetings.
  • Help maintain zone control and predictable workflow across the project.
  • Track observations, handoffs, and roadblocks.
  • Keep project information current and visible.
  • Reinforce consistent execution of UrbanCore's field processes every day.
Site Logistics
  • Coordinate material deliveries with vendors and trade partners.
  • Ensure materials are properly staged, protected, and available when crews need them.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional jobsite.
  • Support implementation of the site's logistics plan.
Safety Leadership
Safety isn't someone else's responsibility. It's everyone's.
  • Conduct daily safety walks.
  • Identify hazards before they become incidents.
  • Support trade orientations and maintain documentation.
  • Reinforce safe work practices across the entire site.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU...
  • Take pride in staying organized.
  • Notice details other people overlook.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully.
  • Enjoy being in the field instead of behind a desk.
  • Take ownership without waiting to be asked.
  • Stay calm under pressure.
  • Believe preparation prevents problems.
  • Care about quality as much as production.
  • Respect every person working on the project.

This role is not for someone who prefers to wait for direction, overlooks the details, or believes "good enough" is good enough.
EXPERIENCE
  • Construction field experience preferred.
  • Experience reading construction drawings preferred.
  • ProCore experience is a plus but not required.
WHY URBANCORE
We're building more than buildings.
We're building a better way to work.
Our systems are designed to eliminate unnecessary chaos so our teams can focus on building great projects, supporting one another, and going home proud of what they accomplished each day.
If you're looking for a place where preparation matters, details matter, and people matter-we'd love to meet you.
BENEFITS & PAY
  • Annual salary of $65,000 to $95,000 per year plus bonus.
  • Employee Health Coverage, 100% paid by company
  • 401K with Company Match of 100% up to 3%, and 50% up to 5%
  • FLEXIBLE VACATION!
