**Travel Required**

Summary:

The Hydrovac Truck Driver is responsible for operating hydrovac equipment to safely excavate soil using high-pressure water and vacuum systems. This role supports construction, utility, and infrastructure projects by exposing underground utilities and preparing sites with minimal disruption. The position requires strict adherence to safety protocols, precise equipment operation, and effective communication with crew members to ensure efficient and safe project execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate hydrovac trucks and associated equipment to perform non-destructive excavation safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections of the hydrovac truck, vacuum system, and water systems to ensure proper working condition; report any issues immediately.
  • Perform daylighting, potholing, trenching, and debris removal in accordance with project requirements and safety standards.
  • Safely locate and expose underground utilities, minimizing risk of damage to existing infrastructure.
  • Maintain proper control of high-pressure water and vacuum systems during excavation.
  • Transport and dispose of excavated materials in compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Navigate job sites and public roadways safely, adhering to DOT regulations and company safety policies.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, utility locators, and crew members to coordinate work activities.
  • Maintain accurate logs of work performed, materials removed, and hours worked in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs to stay current on industry regulations and best practices.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of hydrovac equipment.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks or similar heavy equipment in a construction or utility environment.

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to read utility locates, maps, and job site plans.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and flexible schedules, including overtime.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating hydrovac trucks or similar heavy equipment.
