About Accelevation
We build what the future runs on. Accelevation designs, manufactures, and installs the physical infrastructure that powers today's most advanced technologies. We've grown over 440% in the last 18 months because we take ownership, solve hard problems, and build with purpose. Join us to build the future.
Internship Overview
An internship at Accelevation is not a summer of shadowing and busy work. We design, manufacture, and install the critical infrastructure that powers some of the world's most advanced technologies. As an intern, you will work alongside industry experts on meaningful projects with real deadlines, real responsibilities, and real impact. You will collaborate with engineers, manufacturing leaders, and project managers who are solving complex challenges and shaping the future of critical infrastructure. From our manufacturing center in Southwest Ohio to the mission-critical environments behind many of the world's largest data centers, you will gain firsthand exposure to how innovative ideas become reality. More importantly, you will build lasting connections. You will join a cohort of interns who learn and grow together, while developing relationships with mentors who will support your career long after your internship ends. You will leave with more than experience. You will leave with new skills, meaningful relationships, and a deeper understanding of how your work can help build the future.
Your Impact
As an Electrical Product Engineer Intern, you will support the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of Accelevation's electrical power distribution products, including:
  • UL 891 Switchboards
  • Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
  • Remote Power Panels (RPPs)
  • Automatic and Manual Transfer Switch Systems

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting mission-critical power infrastructure solutions used in some of the world's most demanding environments. Working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to product innovation, engineering documentation, testing, manufacturing support, and quality initiatives.
This internship provides a unique opportunity to develop technical expertise in electrical power systems while gaining real-world experience in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and development of low-voltage power distribution equipment and electrical assemblies
  • Support the creation and maintenance of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation
  • Participate in product testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance analysis activities
  • Assist engineering teams with design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address production challenges and improve product quality and efficiency
  • Support compliance efforts related to UL, NEC, NEMA, and other applicable industry standards
  • Conduct engineering research, data analysis, and technical evaluations to support product enhancements and new product development
  • Help identify opportunities to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to product or process issues
  • Work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product development lifecycle

What You Will Learn
  • Electrical power distribution system design principles
  • Product development processes from concept through production
  • Industry standards including UL, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, and related compliance requirements
  • Design for manufacturability (DFM) and quality best practices
  • Engineering documentation and change management processes
  • Cross-functional collaboration within a rapidly growing manufacturing organization
  • Real-world problem solving in mission-critical infrastructure applications

Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Completed at least three years of undergraduate study prior to the internship
  • Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in electrical power systems, power distribution, or product engineering
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within team environments
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical design or CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, control circuits, and power distribution systems
  • Exposure to NEC, UL, IEEE, NEMA, or related industry standards
  • Experience through engineering projects, research, laboratory work, design teams, or prior internships
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation

Benefits
  • Hands-on engineering experience on mission-critical infrastructure products
  • One-on-one mentorship from experienced engineering professionals
  • Exposure to product development, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams
  • Executive networking and leadership development opportunities
