Job description

POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for assisting the Chief Operating Engineer with the maintenance and operation of all mechanical systems throughout the Club's facilities and grounds, ensuring the Club operates safely, efficiently, and at the highest level of performance.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Supervise maintenance and repair projects and conduct regular inspections and make necessary adjustments and coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians
  • Assist with maintenance/engineering issues and work orders for all areas of the Club and its equipment
  • Assist in procuring parts and items needed for maintenance, completion of work orders and general department supplies within the constraints of the budget
  • Participate in the control of key systems
  • Participate in any special projects to coordinate remodeling of club areas
  • Remain proficient in ongoing energy management program for the property's HVAC and lighting systems
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations (i.e. fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and member/guest concerns
  • Assist with the maintenance of a log for equipment repairs
  • Suggest cost-saving alternatives applicable to maintenance and engineering responsibilities
  • Respond to maintenance requests
  • Monitor maintenance checklists
  • Coordinate inventory of maintenance supplies
  • Ensure that OSHA work requirements are met and that MSDS' are available
  • Regularly inspect all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to ensure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance, and other standards of the department are met
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • HS Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Excellent experience in Carpentry, Painting and Drywall
  • Excellent experience in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, concrete, carpentry, systems and general contracting
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Must be able to sit, walk, squat, kneel, twist, crawl, climb, walk on rough ground, reach, bend, stoop, stand, work from heights, clean and lift up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions as well as exposure to dust, fumes or gases
  • Must be able to work in close proximity to moving machinery
  • Must to able to dial, collate, file, open/close items, sort, stamp, staple, fold/unfold, insert/remove items
  • Independent mobility
