Cabot Citrus Farms

Cabot’s first U.S. destination, Cabot Citrus Farms, is on 1,200 acres of rolling land and will include Cabot’s signature combination of world-class golf, luxury accommodations, and real estate opportunities. Position Overview

As the Lead Engineer (PM), you are a key member of the Cabot Citrus Farms team and will be instrumental in building Cabot’s legacy of world-leading golf destinations. You will be tasked with assisting in the overall function of the property, maintaining operation and functionality throughout. Your knowledge of high-end resort facilities and engineering – combined with your attentiveness, efficiency, and commitment – will ensure that Cabot Citrus Farms remains a safe, clean, presentable, and enjoyable workplace and travel destination for our team members, partners, and guests. You provide a daily presence on-site as directed by the Engineering manager and build strong relationships with team members, community stakeholders, guests, and prospective real estate buyers. You embody Cabot’s values and positively represent the Cabot brand, meeting and exceeding expectations for the resort’s high standard and acting as an ambassador and role model of exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the hospitality facilities are functioning properly. This could include HVAC systems, lighting, elevators, kitchen equipment, and more.
  • Serve as a role model for engineering excellence, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to quality in all aspects of your work.
  • Identify and rectify any general maintenance issues within the property. 
  • Follow professional development and training activities as directed.
  • Assist Engineering Manager with departmental employment activities including recruitment and selection, training, development, retention, and performance management, etc. 
  • Assume duties of Engineering Manager in his absence. 
  • Assist in planning preventative maintenance schedules and other breakdown management and fault reporting systems on all building equipment and monitoring of mechanical HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and building structural elements.  
  • Coordinate repair work, contractor access, and work inspections as directed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Ensure all operational policies, procedures, controls, and fee structures to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory, and resources are followed.
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and comply with OSHA standards.
  • Actively participate in regular team meetings to ensure two-way communication is maintained. 
  • Report emergencies and unusual situations immediately.
  • Handle guest room maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with the operation maintenance and repairs.
  • Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
  • Perform and maintain work to local, state, and Federal codes.
  • Monitor progress with guest complaint issues to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction. 
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, and warm manner.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a maintenance and supervisory role.
  • EPA608 License preferred. 
  • Experience in carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, HVAC, electronic diagnostics, and water treatment.
  • High school or equivalent education is required.
  • Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be able to work under direction or self-directed, motivated, and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent ability to communicate, concisely, and openly in all interactions (verbal and written).
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources and know when to escalate to management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency, and a high degree of attention to detail, without supervision.
  • Florida Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
  • Work flexible hours – weekends, evenings, and overtime as required.
  • Excels in a team environment.

Physical Demands

  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Working in an outdoor environment (i.e.: sun, wind, rain).
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for long periods- up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch, as well as stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, tools, products, and supplies.
