Job description

Summary:

Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of company products. Ensure product performance meets or exceeds company and customer requirements. Service customers independently, often on short notice, handling problems requiring considerable technical ability and skill. Extensive foreign and domestic travel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assist with installation and repair of new or existing equipment.
  • Render technical advice or service on product application.
  • Review reports from customers and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine nature and scope of problem.
  • Analyze symptoms to determine source of problem and recommends repair, replacement or other corrective action.
  • Coordinate and follow up problem resolution with engineering department, sales department, and other personnel.
  • Maintain records of service reports.
  • Analyze reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, and service issues and recommend modifications to eliminate future problems.
  • Conduct training with customers in the operation and maintenance of products.
  • Prepare product manuals and procedures based on overall knowledge of product.
  • Assist engineering with inhouse testing.
  • Assist with training of new employees.
