Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will operate envelope folding machines, perform quality checks, and support production goals.

Work Schedule

  • 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM

(4-day, 10-hour shifts - 40 hours per week)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Check production jacket and compare with envelopes being folded; place an approved sample on the machine.
  • Inspect boxes and cartons on skids; notify Lead Operator or Supervisor of discrepancies.
  • Remove folded envelopes from the delivery table, fan, inspect, and pack into boxes or cartons; handle rejected envelopes appropriately.
  • Perform quality checks on seal, gum adhesion, tears, splits, folds, size, and print accuracy.
  • Label and mark cartons per production instructions; stamp with date, shift, and operator number.
  • Complete Machine Work Records and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Jog, fan, and feed die-cut blanks into machines; inspect for printing issues.
  • Check machine counters at start and mid-shift.
  • Maintain a clean machine area, remove waste, and mop floor as needed.
  • Assist the Adjuster with machine start-up, clearing jams, and wash-ups.
  • Conduct shift handoff communication regarding equipment and order status.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred.
  • High mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Ability to read a ruler.
  • Basic math skills.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
