Job description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Summary
The Dry Etch Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for sustaining, trouble-shooting, and improving Dry Etch manufacturing equipment to support safe, efficient, and high-quality semiconductor production. This role performs preventative and corrective maintenance, resolves equipment issues using mechanical/electrical trouble-shooting skills, addresses SPC and process signals, and partners closely with engineers and production teams. The technician also supports tool installs, documentation updates, and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor tool performance, respond to SPC out-of-control conditions, and perform systematic trouble-shooting to restore equipment functionality.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, equipment recoveries, documentation updates, and long-term down (LTD) resolution using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Support equipment installations, tests, and procedure creation; maintain high-quality documentation in check sheets, tracking systems, and TPM/6S programs.
  • Use schematics, diagnostic tools, and data analysis to identify root causes of recurring failures and drive corrective actions.
  • Communicate tool and area issues to Lead Technicians/Engineers and raise trends, yield concerns, or equipment risks as needed.
  • Mentor teammates on best-known methods, proper workmanship, and alignment to safety/environmental standards.
  • Participate in KT sessions, TPM activities, document reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing uptime and reliability.
  • Follow all EHS procedures, maintain compliance (LOTO, PPE, audits), and actively contribute to MTV's safety culture.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical and electrical proficiency, including basic understanding of AC/DC circuits, schematics, and electronics trouble-shooting.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs), follow detailed procedures, document work accurately, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work any 12-hour shift, stand for long periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and collaborate effectively with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
  • AAS in Electronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, military technical training, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience maintaining or trouble-shooting Dry Etch tools or semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with SPC principles, TPM practices, and semiconductor manufacturing systems.
