Job description

The Remedy Dog Bar is a hybrid restaurant, bar, and supervised dog social yard ("The Doggio"). We operate as a team-based, shared tip-pool environment where all staff assist guests, dogs, and each other. All employees are cross-trained and may support front-of-house, back-of-house, and Doggio operations based on volume and daily needs.
We are not just serving food - we are managing a social environment for both people and dogs.
Employees should expect a fast-paced setting combining elements of full-service dining, quick-service efficiency, and animal care supervision.
Line Cook
Title: Line Cook
Department: Front of House / Doggio Support
Reports To: Shift Lead / Manager on Duty
Job Summary
The Line Cook prepares food orders while maintaining food safety and kitchen sanitation. Line cooks may assist with expo, dish, or food running when necessary as part of team operations. The Line Cooks main duty is to serve guests by providing them with a superior food product along with quick, friendly, and superior service.
Line Cooks may also help monitor the Doggio and educate guests on rules and safety procedures when applicable.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff and to guest satisfaction
• Food preparation and portioning prior to service
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Explain menu items and answer product question as raised by guests
• Understanding of how the Doggio works (rules, supervision, waivers) in case of questions that may arise from guests
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
• Properly pack, plate, and present all menu items
• Properly hold and store all foods
• Take out trash/Sweep and mop floors
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Must follow the guidelines stated in grooming standards policy
• Assist guests with membership check-ins and documentation if needed
• Monitor dog behavior and notify Woofaree staff of concerns
• Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any issues if needed
• Maintain BOH restaurant cleanliness and ensure all tasks and duties are upkept throughout shift
• Help run drinks/food for teammates when needed
• Reset seating areas and assist with bussing
• Assist in closing and opening duties
• Support bartenders, servers, hosts, and Doggio staff during high volume
• Communicate openly, timely, and honestly with subordinates, superiors and all others about plans, progress, and problems
• Always be approachable, coachable and have a good positive attitude
Required Skills & Abilities
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Strong guest service personality
• Comfortable interacting with dogs of all sizes
• Ability to multitask in a loud, fast environment
• Team-oriented mindset
• Conflict-resolution skills (guest and dog situations)
Physical Requirements
• Standing/walking for long periods
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
o Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
o Working outdoors in heat or cold
o Exposure to barking dogs and busy patio environments
• Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
o Making observations
o Communicating with others
o Reading and writing
