Job description

 

This is an onsite position based at the Widow Jane Distillery in Red Hook, Brooklyn NY. This is a part time role with varying hours. 

Standard operating hours are Thursday and Friday from 4:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday/Sunday 2:00pm - 10:00pm. 

What the Role Is 

The Part-Time Barback will be responsible for maintaining tasting room cleanliness and appearance of the Botanica Bar at Widow Jane. The Barback will support Bartenders and Front of House staff and be responsible for providing efficient beverage service and maintaining the bar’s cleanliness and overall appearance. Botanica at Widow Jane proudly serves as the distillery’s Cocktail Bar and Whiskey Tasting Room. 

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Provide an exceptional guest experience and maintain a positive guest/customer relation at all times
  • Prepare fresh garnishes, juices, syrups, and other cocktail components
  • Assist with bussing tables and resetting the bar room
  • Plate bar snack offerings
  • Monitor usage and restock bar with spirits, beer, and wine as needed
  • Maintain highest health standards, sanitation and cleanliness in the beverage/bar area to meet local, state and government guidelines.
  • Ensure all service items such as menus, etc. are cleaned, in good condition and replaced as required
  • Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and driving while under the influence
  • Maintain bar cleanliness by cleaning glasses, putting away items and organizing kitchen fridge daily, changing/taking out garbage, maintaining clean restroom
