Job Summary

The Racquets Services Associate serves as the first point of contact for members and guests visiting the Racquets Center. Reporting to the Director of Racquets, this position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Racquets Pro Shop front desk. The Racquets Services Associate assists with court reservations, program registration, retail sales, member communication, and administrative functions to ensure a welcoming, organized, and professional environment that enhances the overall member experience.

Essential Functions

  • Welcome members and guests with a friendly, professional, and service-oriented attitude.
  • Schedule and manage tennis and pickleball court reservations.
  • Check members in for lessons, clinics, leagues, camps, tournaments, and special events.
  • Process retail purchases, court fees, lesson payments, and other transactions through the point-of-sale system.
  • Answer telephone calls, emails, and member inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with registration and communication for racquets programming, including clinics, camps, leagues, tournaments, and club events.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting Pro Shop and front desk area.
  • Restock merchandise and assist with monitoring retail inventory levels.
  • Assist with merchandising displays, promotional materials, and retail presentation.
  • Communicate daily schedules, court assignments, and program updates with Racquets Professional staff.
  • Assist with event preparation, including facility setup and breakdown, as needed.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the Racquets Center.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete administrative duties as assigned.
  • Support the overall operation of the Racquets Department by providing exceptional hospitality and member service.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No supervisory duties are included in this position

Work Environment

  • Primarily indoors within the Racquets Pro Shop and front desk, with occasional outdoor responsibilities around the Racquets Center.
  • Frequent interaction with members, guests, and staff in a hospitality-focused environment.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring frequent multitasking and member engagement.
  • Evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional extended-hour shifts are required to support club programming, tournaments, leagues, member socials, and special events.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequent use of computers, telephones, and point-of-sale equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, including merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, and light physical activity associated with retail operations and event setup.

Education and Experience (Required and Preferred)

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or front desk experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a tennis, pickleball, country club, or recreational environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with reservation systems and point-of-sale software is a plus.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional member service and willingness to learn racquets operations.
