ASSISTANT TENNIS PROFESSIONAL
Status: Seasonal, Full-time, Non-Exempt
Responsibility: Medium Level of Supervision Needed. Low Level of Operational Decision Making
Reports To: Director of Racquets
Supervises: N/A

Skills:
  • Excellent Tennis Skills โ€“ Able to play the game at a high level, thorough knowledge of the rules, gives creative and educational lessons and clinics.
  • Basic Administrative Skills - Use of technology, verbal and written communication, business correspondence, organization, time management.
  • Basic Management Skills โ€“ Decision making, planning, problem-solving, communication, delegation, time management, organization, interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Supervisory Skills โ€“ Communication, leadership, conflict resolution, motivation, interpersonal skills, understand diversity and generational differences.
  • Excellent Teamwork and Communication Skills โ€“ Interact, work and relate with people, listen, speak, read, write, observe, use English fluently.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills โ€“ Product knowledge, problem-solving skills, time management, attentiveness, patience, positive attitude, a willingness to go the extra mile, responsibility, professionalism.

Effort: High - Walk and stand for extended periods of time. Activities will often involve running. Bend, reach, push, pull, lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Work Conditions: Level 5 โ€“ Mostly outdoors, working in hot/cold environment, inclement weather, variable schedule based on business demands.

Duties:
  • Work with Director of Racquets to promote adult and junior tennis programs. Performs the following duties with a focus on providing an excellent experience for Members.
  • Teach various types of tennis clinics including cardio tennis, menโ€™s clinics, ladiesโ€™ clinics, and childrenโ€™s clinics
  • Teach private and group lessons to players of all ages and abilities
  • Facilitate junior team matches
  • Enthusiastically encourage Member participation in all events
  • Assist with various administrative duties in the tennis department
  • String Memberโ€™s rackets as well as demos
  • Be familiar with and follow the Clubโ€™s emergency procedures and be prepared to handle emergency situations if they arise
  • Administer and enforce Club racquets policies and procedures regarding play on the courts emphasizing sportsmanship
  • Represent the Club in the highest standard possible both on and off property
