Responsibilities
As an Assistant Director, you will be given the tools, resources, and training to assist the School Director with the following responsibilities:
Licensing and Standards:
  • Working knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards, School Employee Handbook, Parent Handbook and Operation Policies.
  • Compliance with licensing and Company policies
  • Maintain children files according to licensing regulations
  • Maintain health statements, immunization records, vision and hearing requirements according to licensing regulations
  • Ensures the school adheres to federal and state laws, regulations, and Celebree's policies, procedures, and tools
  • Ensure branding is being followed in every classroom and throughout the school
  • Foster positive and welcoming environment for families and team

School Operations:
  • Mentor teachers and assist them with curriculum planning and classrooms behavior management.
  • Daily approval of Daily Reports
  • Weekly and daily schedules coverage for classrooms by ensuring staffing according to ratios and minimal or no overtime
  • Weekly printing and reviewing of lesson plans in coordination with the Director to ensure that curriculum, enrichment and daily schedules are followed.
  • Ability to drive school bus to drop/pick-up kids when needed and able to drive kids to field trips
  • Financial management and billing
  • Biweekly, get the supply orders approved and order the supply for the school from school preferred stores.
  • Classroom supplies must reflect the lesson plan activities
  • As needed update of classroom and lunch rosters as needed followed by communication sent to lunch vendor.

Customer Service:
  • Focuses on delivering exceptional customer service experiences to families
  • Pick up and make phone calls in a warm, friendly tone
  • Must be able to provide friendly family tours
  • Communicates with families in a calm demeanor
  • Provides families with correct and accurate information based on licensing, brand and school policies

Events
  • Ability to organize and support school events
  • Able to represent the school during events in the community
  • Maintain knowledge of current event in the area and advice of upcoming important events that may be beneficial for the school.
  • Collaborates with the event calendar as well as with the fun calendar, maintaining families and classrooms informed once events are approved.

Curriculum Support:
  • Assists in the implementation of programs and the curriculum as per the plans provided by the Director for each age group
  • Assists teachers in the classrooms with brand requirements included but not limited with provocation centers

Enrollment & Goals:
  • Works to achieve enrollment goals in coordination with the Director.

Documentation:
  • Completes all required paperwork and maintains accurate child files and all front desk forms.

Initiative & Improvement:
  • Supports and helps lead new company initiatives, policies, and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement within the school.

Physical Demands:
  • Able to stand - kneel - walk - climb small steps - carry a 4 year old child - run - dive the school bus to drop and pick school age children

Personality Traits:
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to support the staff and families
  • Strong organizational skills and able to problem-solve in the absence of the Director
  • Energetic and positive attitude
  • Ability to stay calm and composed in all situations

Skills:
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point
  • Knowledge of Conscious Discipline
  • Preferred knowledge of Handwriting without Tears
  • Preferred knowledge of Teaching Strategies and Tadpoles

Certification Requirements:
  • Must be at least 25 years old
  • Must have a minimum 3-5 years experience working in a preschool environment in similar position in a state licensed center
  • Must comply with state licensing requirements, including annual training hours and CPR and first aid
  • Must hold a director or day care administrator certificate (able to act as the Director in her absence)
  • Preferable CDA or degree in early childhood education or related field
