What is an assistant designer?

Although there are assistant designers in many industries, such as graphic design and marketing, in the fashion industry, an assistant designer works under the direction of a lead designer. You create and design new products or improve/modify existing products. Typically, a fashion house’s creative director develops a theme or structure to a collection. These are then interpreted by the art director and designers who create the actual look of each piece for a collection. Your duties are to sketch and design individual pieces, create color boards, and prepare tech sheets, which have the design specifications for the manufacturer to follow during production.

How does an assistant designer typically collaborate with senior designers and other departments during a project?

As an Assistant Designer, you will work closely with senior designers by supporting them in tasks such as creating mood boards, preparing technical drawings, and sourcing materials. Collaboration often extends to working with production teams, merchandisers, and sometimes suppliers to ensure design concepts are accurately developed and executed. Regular team meetings and feedback sessions are common, providing opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and contribute ideas. Effective communication and organization are key to thriving in this collaborative environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an assistant designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Assistant Designer, you need a solid understanding of design principles, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar software, and often a relevant degree or diploma in design. Familiarity with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and experience with project management platforms is typically expected. Strong attention to detail, creativity, effective communication, and the ability to take feedback set successful candidates apart. These skills and qualities are crucial for supporting senior designers, delivering high-quality work, and ensuring smooth project workflows.

Location: Mashpee, MA

Position: Full-Time (FT)

Setting: In-House Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Say Goodbye to Contract Company Burnout!

Are you a passionate Physical Therapist Assistant who loves working with the geriatric population but is tired of unrealistic productivity metrics and endless corporate red tape?

At Royal Cotuit Nursing and Rehab Center, we do things differently. We are proud to operate a 100% in-house therapy department. Come build meaningful relationships with your patients and actually enjoy going to work!

What You’ll Be Doing:

As our full-time PTA, you will be on the front lines of restoring mobility, strength, and confidence for our residents.

  • Treat & Empower: Implement targeted, evidence-based treatment plans designed by the evaluating PT to address mobility, balance, gait, and pain management.
  • Innovate: Carry out specialized programs (like fall prevention and joint replacement recovery) to ensure our patients achieve their highest possible level of independence and success.
  • Collaborate: Partner seamlessly with our PTs, alongside COTAs, SLPs, and nursing teams, to deliver cohesive and comprehensive clinical care.
  • Educate: Empower patients and their families with the physical tools and knowledge needed for safe discharges and active community integration.
  • Document: Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and facility guidelines.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Active (or pending) state PTA license in MA.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a SNF or adult rehab setting is highly preferred, but a collaborative mindset and passion for patient care are what matter most.
  • Skills: Strong clinical execution, empathy, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us (The Perks!):

Because we are in-house, we invest directly in YOU.

  •  Competitive Salary: Commensurate with your experience.
  • ⚖️ Realistic Expectations: Ethical, manageable productivity standards.
  •  Comprehensive Health Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
  • ️ Generous PTO: Paid time off and paid holidays to support your work-life balance.
  •  Culture: A supportive, family-like environment where your clinical insights as an assistant are truly valued.
