Job description

Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Design Engineer. What you'll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supports engineering and product development activities through the creation and maintenance of 3D models, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation. In addition to processing engineering changes, this role actively contributes to New Product Development (NPD) projects by collaborating with engineering teams on design concepts, developing 3D models, and providing design recommendations to support product functionality, manufacturability, and project objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 2.1 Develop and maintain engineering drawings using SolidWorks and, when required, AutoCAD. 2.2 Create and develop 3D models, assemblies, and mechanical drawings for new and existing products. 2.3 Prepare new and revised engineering documentation based on approved design changes and engineering direction

2.4 Ensure engineering drawings and documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant with company drafting standards. 2.5 Maintain document control and revision integrity within the PLM system. 2.6 Participate in drawing reviews to verify adherence to established engineering and quality requirements

2.7 Support New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept through product release. 2.8 Assist engineering personnel in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation supporting product design and manufacturing processes. 2.9 Develop 3D models and prototypes to support product design evaluation and validation

2.10 Support project schedules by completing design deliverables and documentation on time. 2.11 Accomplish other instructions assigned by manager. Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS): 1

Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with the MESH Coordinator. 2. Assist to all EHS training assigned.

Qualifications: 1. Graduated or currently attending last semester university (Mechanical and/or Electrical or equivalent) 2. 1 year (or more) experience in engineered drafting work involving CAD tools.

3. Computer knowledge: MS Office Applications, Adobe Illustrator 4. CAD tools such as Solidworks (Proficiency use of drawings, parts and assemblies) *Test may be required.

5. Other CAD tools good to have: AutoCAD. Creo or Pro/E knowledge.

6. Ability to interpret engineering specifications, standards, and technical requirements. 7.

Desirable: Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) concepts. 8. Desirable: Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.

9. Competencies: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Strong organizational and documentation skills. 10. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
