Civil Design Engineer Key Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape land development and infrastructure projects, including stormwater, sanitary systems, roads and utilities.
  • Communicate and coordinate with team members to deliver a wide range of private, and public sector projects, by collaborating with Project Managers and other team members to deliver great projects.
  • Prepare reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Assist your project team with civil and environmental permits and approvals.
  • Work with teams that understand the many aspects of water and are industry leaders in helping protect that valuable resource.
  • Analyze and design projects impacted by or intentionally engaging with streams, floodplain, wetlands, and other water resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 0-6 years related experience.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, and MicroStation (preferred).
  • Familiarity with modeling/design tools (HEC-RAS, TR-20, XPSWMM (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling/design tools (preferred).
