Job description

Description
The Production Lead plays a key role in supporting daily operations on the production floor. This position provides leadership to Line Workers, helps ensure safety and quality standards are followed, and supports the Shift Supervisor with coordination and problem solving.
Essential job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assist the Shift Supervisor with delegating responsibilities, coordinating staffing, start up and shut down, line cleaning, lean 5S efforts, and communication with other departments
  • Transport materials and ingredients from the warehouse or staging areas into production and ensure equipment is properly stocked
  • Weigh and measure mix, flavors, inclusions, and other ingredients
  • Operate process room equipment and perform basic mechanical repairs
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on equipment and escalate to maintenance when needed
  • Complete hourly quality checks with Line Workers
  • Lead end-of-day team meetings
  • Communicate, implement, and enforce all company policies
  • Communicate with other shifts to support smooth transitions
  • Complete data entry and inventory reporting in ERP software
  • Support a positive culture that improves morale and engagement
  • Serve, assist, and train Line Workers in completing job responsibilities
  • Follow all safety, GMP, quality, and company policies

Schedule
  • Grave Shift: Monday - Thursday
  • 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Pay
  • $21/hr. starting pay + $2 grave differential = $23/hr. to start
  • Opportunities to increase pay with experience and performance

Requirements
  • Must have minimum of 2 years lead experience in a factory setting
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, training, teamwork, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong problem solving skills and sound judgement
  • Knowledge of lean principles, especially 5S
  • Knowledge of company policies including GMP, SQF, HACCP, Food Safety, and Food Defense
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
  • Strong listening, comprehension, and verbal communication skills
  • Accurate math skills for weights, measurements, and inventory counts

Physical Demands:
  • Extensive walking and prolonged standing for the duration of the shift, including climbing stairs and ladders
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and work overhead for extended periods
  • Ability to use hands and arms for grasping, manipulating, assembling, and repetitive motion tasks
  • Ability to lift 50 pound buckets from the floor to chest height multiple times per shift
  • Ability to lift and hold 40 pound rolls of wrap at knee height while changing
  • Ability to perform all physical requirements of a Production Line Worker role

Work Environment
  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels and moving equipment
  • This role involves working around industrial machinery and may include exposure to electromagnetic fields generated by production equipment
  • Exposure to food allergens, including peanuts and tree nuts including contact with skins, oils, and dust generated during processing and grinding
