Risk Analyst

Description
The Risk Analyst supports the Senior Risk Analyst and the Legal and Risk Departments by coordinating compliance, documentation, regulatory review, and risk-related activities across Cotton's divisions. This position assists in monitoring operational adherence to laws, ordinances, statutes, and internal policies. Responsibilities include performing internal compliance reviews, supporting risk mitigation initiatives, obtaining and maintaining required licenses and registrations, coordinating with vendors and external agencies, and preparing regulatory and contractual documentation. The Risk Analyst ensures that Cotton's operations comply with established standards and helps maintain consistent risk management practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Research, review, and interpret regulatory and legal changes affecting Cotton's operations
  • Communicate updates to leadership and affected departments
  • Support efforts to implement compliance requirements established by the Legal and Risk Departments
  • Obtain new or renewal licenses, certifications, registrations, and propose exemptions when appropriate
  • Communicate with local, state, and federal agencies, insurance carriers, and brokers
  • Assist in developing and updating internal policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
  • Conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance with corporate standards
  • Prepare, maintain, and organize compliance reports and related records
  • Assist with reviewing and preparing contracts with clients and vendors
  • Assit in the insurance renewal process by gathering data, completing applications, and reviewing policies
  • Issue, maintain, and organize Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding documentation and review of maintenance contracts
  • Support the Corporate Risk Manager on risk management activities and departmental initiatives
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 2-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, legal, auditing, business operations, or a related area
  • Experience researching regulations or interpreting compliance requirements
  • Experience collaborating with insurance carriers, brokers, vendors, or regulatory agencies is preferred

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business software

  • Understanding of insurance processes and risk documentation
