DCS ensures resilient, secure, efficient, and compliant environments that support the Bank's evolving technology needs, including AI, Private Cloud, FICTECH, and Ultra-Low Latency services.
This AVP-level, London-based role provides oversight and coordination across data center white space operations, grey space landlord interfaces, vendor performance, and site governance. The specialist will help embed the target operating model, improve consistency, and ensure adherence to DCS standards, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and relevant data center principles.
What We Offer You
  • A diverse and inclusive environment that embraces change, innovation, and collaboration
  • A hybrid working model, allowing for in-office / work from home flexibility, generous vacation, personal and volunteer days
  • Employee Resource Groups support an inclusive workplace for everyone and promote community engagement
  • Competitive compensation packages including health and wellbeing benefits, retirement savings plans, parental leave, and family building benefits
  • Educational resources, matching gift and volunteer programs

What You'll Do
  • Provide client-side oversight of day-to-day white space operations and grey space infrastructure interfaces across data centre environments
  • Coordinate with landlords, colocation operators, facilities providers, vendors, smart hands teams, and internal service owners to ensure controlled operational execution
  • Review planned maintenance, MOPs, risk assessments, access requirements, service impacts, and evidence of completion for shared infrastructure activities
  • Conduct site reviews, assess vendor performance, document findings, and support remediation of issues, risks, and non-compliance
  • Support the implementation of standardised operational processes, governance routines, auditability, and vendor accountability under the target operating model
  • Work with DCS, security, compliance, commercial, project, and local teams to maintain secure, resilient, and well-controlled data centre operations

Skills You'll Need
  • Several years of experience in data center operations, IT facilities, infrastructure operations, governance, audit, assurance, or site reviews, ideally within a financial services environment
  • Strong knowledge of data center white space operations, including rack and stack activities, structured cabling, patching, cross-connects, hardware deployment, asset management, and IMAC/D processes
  • Good understanding of data center infrastructure and grey space dependencies, including power, cooling, UPS, generators, fire protection, environmental monitoring, and building management systems
  • Familiarity with DCIM tools, ITIL practices, operational controls, and industry standards related to resilience, availability, security, monitoring, and structured cabling
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs

Skills That Will Help You Excel
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to produce operational reports, track issues and actions, and work effectively across regional and global teams
  • Ability to analyze operational data and produce concise site review reports, issue logs, action trackers, management updates, and evidence-based recommendations
