Job description

Role Overview

This role is for a senior, hands-on Data Center Network Engineer to support and evolve a global, Cisco-centric data center network environment. The position involves contributing hands-on engineering expertise to support Cisco ACI and VPN infrastructure, while introducing practical automation to improve resiliency, scalability, and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will join an experienced team and play a key part in new data center builds, modernization initiatives, and cloud migration efforts. The focus is on execution and operational improvement over high-level strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain all data center network infrastructure, including Cisco ACI fabrics, the Cisco Nexus switching environment, and VPN infrastructure.
  • Assist with standing up new data centers and building out new network architectures.
  • Design and implement connectivity between legacy and new data centers during migration phases.
  • Perform software upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management for ACI fabrics and network devices.
  • Improve network resiliency, stability, and operational readiness through engineering improvements.
  • Assist in migrating workloads between on-premises data centers and cloud environments.
  • Contribute to operational tasks, troubleshooting, and ongoing infrastructure improvements.
  • Participate in performance monitoring and remediation of network issues.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience with Cisco ACI, including operating and supporting complex ACI fabrics.
  • Deep understanding of data center networking architecture and design, including concepts such as BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, and leaf-spine topologies.
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco VPN technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute, build, fix, and improve infrastructure directly in a hands-on capacity.

Team & Cultural Fit:

  • Must be collaborative and able to integrate into a highly tenured team environment.
  • Must demonstrate humility, strong teamwork, and a willingness to contribute at all levels.
  • Willingness to listen, learn, and contribute constructively is essential for success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise or telecom-level network environments.
  • Experience supporting global data center infrastructure.
  • Experience with Python, Ansible, or similar scripting and automation tools.
  • Exposure to AWS and/or GCP networking environments.
  • Experience supporting migrations between on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Golang or Terraform experience is beneficial.
