Job description

Seeking a talented LEAD Data Business Analyst. This Business Analyst - Data Products will work directly with business stakeholders and technical teams, including engineering, operations and data/analyst groups. This role is responsible for driving the end-to-end lifecycle of data product development - from requirements gathering and user story documentation to process mapping, data flow design, testing, training & Implementation.

This role requires a blended skill set that combines the strengths of both business analysts (BAs) and Data Analysts (DAs). You will translate business needs into data driven solutions, bridge between stakeholders and data team, ensuring that data product deliver real business value.

What you will do:

Technical Analysis & POC Development

  • Build and validate POCs for new data products and enhancements.
  • Query, transform, and test data using SQL, Databricks, and Power BI (or equivalent).
  • Develop mock dashboards to visualize metrics and validate business logic before engineering builds.
  • Document source-to-target mappings, data logic, and test results.
  • Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, and required transformations early in development.

Data Product Execution & Delivery

  • Translate strategic goals into actionable user stories and technical specifications.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery tracking.
  • Ensure requirements are clear, structured, and technically feasible before hand-off to dev teams.
  • Validate development outputs against expected results and assist with QA and UAT.
  • Continuously refine product specifications as data maturity evolves.

Data Architecture & Quality Alignment

  • Collaborate with engineers and architects on data model design and optimization.
  • Maintain clarity around data lineage, definitions, and relationships across systems.
  • Support governance through documentation, validation scripts, and data-quality testing.

Operational Excellence

  • Keep ADO tickets, documentation, and sprint boards accurate and current.
  • Track delivery progress and dependencies to keep builds moving efficiently.
  • Surface technical blockers early and propose practical solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years in data analysis, data engineering, or technical business analysis roles.
  • Hands-on proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Databricks (Python or PySpark exposure a plus).
  • Understanding of data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and Lakehouse workflows.
  • Experience designing and validating data models, metrics, and ETL logic.
  • Familiarity with Azure ADO or similar Agile tools for sprint execution.
  • Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
