Rifugio Litchfield Hills is a new cycling and outdoor experience hub launched by KC&E Adventures. Located on the edge of White Memorial, our space combines a curated retail selection, service center, bike rentals, and a full slate of cycling programs and events. We're focused on creating an inclusive and elevated riding community in northwest Connecticut.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated bicycle mechanic to join our service team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical ability, a passion for bikes, and excellent customer service skills. The mechanic will be responsible for performing a wide range of service tasks-from basic tune-ups to advanced diagnostics on modern drivetrain systems and e-bikes.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Perform bike repairs and maintenance on a variety of bicycles, including road, mountain, gravel, and e-bikes
โ€ข Build new bikes and complete quality control checks on incoming inventory
โ€ข Diagnose mechanical issues and provide service estimates
โ€ข Complete drivetrain overhauls, brake bleeds, wheel truing, and suspension service (as experience allows)
โ€ข Work with customers to explain repairs, recommend services, and ensure a great experience
โ€ข Support rental fleet upkeep, including regular checks and quick fixes between rentals
โ€ข Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
โ€ข Occasionally assist with retail or ride events when needed
Requirements
Qualifications
โ€ข Previous experience working as a bicycle mechanic (shop or equivalent setting preferred)
โ€ข Strong working knowledge of current bike technology including:
