Job description

Position Description:

Perform various duties to assist in the day to day operations of the packaging production line, with a Safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a Safety-culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs all duties and requirements in a safe and orderly manner
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Required to maintain rate of the packaging line operation being performed
  • Moves, stores and stacks materials and products by hand or with material handling equipment
  • Adjusts and monitors equipment, advising lead person of irregularities
  • Identifies line needs due to packaging/product quality and confers needs with lead person
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed
  • Train hourly employees on various functions like palletizers, box machines, and forklift as needed

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:

Not Applicable

Requirements:

  • Basic English
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
  • Able to communicate effectively orally, bilingual preferred
  • Able to work variable shifts; overtime and weekends as needed
  • Able to work in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift in excess of 75 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Able to tolerate extreme temperatures (heat/cold)
  • Able to tolerate heights
  • Standing/walking 100% of the workday
  • Twist, bend and stoop approx. 5% of the workday

Training Period:

  • 1 - 3 months meeting all above requirements



This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period. Benefits include: medical, vision and dental as well as 1 week of paid time off after 1 year of employment.
