Assistant Controller
Reporting to: Controller
Department: Accounting / Finance
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Position Summary

We're looking for an Assistant Controller to support our General Ledger team and play a key role in the monthly close process and financial reporting. This individual will review accounting work, provide guidance on accounting matters, and drive process improvements while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and review aspects of the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for key areas including cash, prepaid/accrued expenses, and fixed assets
  • Partner cross-functionally to gather financial data required for reporting
  • Support the annual financial statement audit by coordinating with external auditors and preparing schedules/documentation
  • Advise on accounting implications of business transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls
  • Mentor and develop a team of accountants to drive performance and growth
  • Participate in system enhancements and implementations
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of accounting or finance experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and internal controls
  • Proven leadership and team development experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required
Total Rewards
The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000 annually for employees based in Boston, MA. Final compensation may vary and will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
