Job description

Glynn County invites qualified engineering professionals to apply for the position of Assistant County Engineer. Reporting to the Engineering Services Director, this role is responsible for managing roadway, drainage, and infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction and closeout. The position serves as engineer of record for in-house projects, coordinates with consultants, contractors, utility providers, and regulatory agencies, leads project scoping and procurement, and provides clear technical guidance to county leadership and the public.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field, have 4โ€“6 years of relevant engineering experience, and possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia or demonstrate the ability to obtain one. Strong project management skills, the ability to balance competing priorities across schedules and budgets, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders are essential. County residency is required upon hire.
