Job description

ASPHALT PLANT OPERATOR
C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. Our company is seeking an Asphalt Plant Operator for our local operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems for both drum and batch asphalt plants to ensure efficient production and compliance with mix specifications
  • Safely operate asphalt plant equipment and processes while maintaining a safe work environment for employees, contractors, and truck drivers delivering or receiving materials
  • Continuously monitor plant operations, equipment performance, and material flow throughout production to identify and address operational issues promptly
  • Perform routine plant inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs to help ensure maximum equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Assist the Plant Foreman with daily operational activities, including ordering liquid asphalt, aggregates, plant supplies, repair parts, and transportation services
  • Assist with maintaining accurate production records, inventory reports, material usage documentation, and other required operational records
  • Support plant operations by performing a variety of tasks, including monitoring cold feed systems, operating loaders and dozers around stockpiles and bins, and assisting with material handling activities
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe plant facility, including the control room, office areas, equipment, and grounds
  • Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and report safety concerns, equipment deficiencies, or maintenance needs to supervision
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures at all times
  • Work collaboratively with plant personnel, truck drivers, quality control staff, and field operations to ensure production goals and customer requirements are met
  • Receive and process customer payments for asphalt purchases, including cash, checks, and credit card transactions, while maintaining accurate records and following company accounting procedures
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:
  • One plus years of experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be willing to obtain training/certifications as required/needed
  • Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
  • Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
  • Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver's license
  • Employer conducts drug testing and background check
