Gold Star Feed & Grain is located within 15 minutes of East Aurora, NY. 


  At Gold Star, we offer feed and nutrition services and commodity trading in the northeastern U.S., primarily to dairies. As feed and commodity specialists, our customers count on us to originate feed for the mills, manufacture it according to their unique specifications and handle logistics for a safe and smooth delivery every time. 


As a Production Operator you will organize, perform and complete the manufacturing of meal & pelleted feeds to order. Includes monitoring and testing for quality assurance as required. Complete the required daily reports.

Job Functions:

  • Safety Orientated
  • Operate the Bag Feed manufacturing, scales and sewing machines
  • Climbing ladders and working at heights on top of facility
  • Perform scale weight test weekly
  • Dump bag ingredients into mixes as formula requires
  • Shrink wrap and label pallets as required per order
  • Load - unload trucks at the dock as needed
  • Wait on customers as needed
  • Load Gold Star Bag Trucks or Bulk Trucks for deliveries
  • Pull Bag orders for next day's bag truck deliveries
  • Insure bulk commodities are flowing from bulk bins
  • Refill Micro ingredient hoppers if needed
  • Operate Bulk Feed manufacturing system
  • Assist WEM room operator as needed
  • Assist Ingredient receiver as needed
  • Perform daily inspections of Fork Trucks
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment including lubrication and adjustments
  • Clean control room daily
  • Clean warehouse daily
  • Clean mill on regular schedule
  • Assist with any other tasks as requested or assigned by management
  • Reports to mill foreman

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Basic understanding of computers, math comprehension and previous plant environment is helpful
  • Mechanical aptitude in prior work history.
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, and work long hours in harsh environments (hot, cold temperatures and a dusty conditions).
  • Exhibit good work habits, including excellent attendance and individual productivity

Requires the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, medical questionnaire and a background check.
