Job description

JSM Airport Services, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Control Room Operator at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). This is a career-track opportunity, and we are looking for individuals ready to commit to a long-term professional future with our company, with an expected commitment of at least 1 year. The Control Room Operator is a coordination support role that assists in maintaining the airportโ€™s Baggage Handling Systems (BHS).

Compensation:

  • Full Time
  • Weekly Pay
  • Hourly Rate: Starting at $25.00 (Dependent on Experience)

Work Schedule:

Must be able to work as scheduled (this is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation). Holidays will be included if they fall on a scheduled workday. Shift assignments are based on the airport and company requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Report on BHS (Baggage Handling System) alarms/events to inspect, clear blockages/jams, and repair failed equipment as appropriate
  • Coordinate personnel and resources to ensure minimum service requirements are maintained
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and BHS related inquiries by person/telephone in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Control Room Operator(s) shall be attentive of the condition of the entire BHS at all times in order to respond immediately to events and/or possible blockages/events and/or unusual behavior, including but not limited to:
  • Jams
  • E-Stops
  • Faults
  • Security
  • Equipment malfunction
  • Incorrect operation
  • Incorrect routing of baggage
  • Power outages
  • Control Room Operator(s) shall be proficient and trained on the proper use of all equipment and interfaces within the BHS control room, including but not limited to:
  • Workstations based on Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Customized applications to monitor BHS operations
  • Customized applications to monitor and identify baggage routing
  • Radios
  • Telephone systems
  • Reporting/Recording the schedule of events
  • Startup procedures
  • Implement call tree notifications based on equipment failures
  • Implement fallback procedures in accordance with adopted practices
  • Safety and compliance training as required
  • Perform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customer

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Experience with computer software applications (i.e., MS Office, ERP, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress, offering solutions to resolve issues
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Possess the versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a member of various teams

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
